Kathleen Zellner

 American lawyer Kathleen Zellner has extensive experience in the field of wrongful conviction advocacy. The clients she represented include Steven Avery, who was included in the Netflix series Making a Murderer (2015) and (2018), Kevin Fox, whom was falsely accused of murdering his daughter. Ryan W. Ferguson, Larry Eyler and 19 exonerees. All of them are on the National Registry of Exonerations. Kathleen Zellner, the second child of seven, was born in Midland Texas. Owen Thomas, her father, was a geologist. Winifred, her mother was a chemist before becoming a nurse. Her family relocated from Texas to Oklahoma at the age of 9 years old. After graduation from Marquette University, Wisconsin, she attended the University of Missouri. Concordia University, Montreal, Canada. In 1981, she earned her Juris Doctor degree from Northern Illinois University College of Law. She was also the Editor-in-Chief of the Law Review and clerked for George W. Lindberg, 2nd District Illinois Appellate Court judge. In the year 1991, Kathleen T. Zellner & Associates was established in Downers Grove. In October of 2018, Zellner has been exonerated in 19 cases that involved wrongful convictions, violations of civil rights and abuse of prisoners. A few prominent clients Zellner represented include Steven Avery, who was included in the Netflix series Making a Murderer (2015) and (2018). Kevin Fox was falsely accused of murdering his daughter, who was three years old. The exonerations of 19 are on the National Registry of Exonerations. Newsweek stated that her attorney said she was going to face her trial in the courtroom if she were found guilty.
