Moss, born February 13, 1977, is an ex-American footballer. He was an American
footballer who played for 14 years in the National Football League (NFL) which
included the Minnesota Vikings and Oakland Raiders and the New England Patriots
and Tennessee Titans. Alongside Jerry Rice, he is generally regarded as the
most outstanding wide receiver ever. Moss holds the NFL single year touchdown
record (23 in 2007) and also the first NFL single season touchdown record (17
in 1998). He is 2nd in the NFL all-time regular seasons touchdown receptions
with 156. Moss is popular for his ability catch contested passes. The word
"mossed" which has now entered the vocabulary of football, became
popularized because of the fact that he was a successful. Moss began his career
as a studio analyst for ESPN's Sunday NFL Countdown and Tuesday Night Countdown
shows. Moss was born in Rand, West Virginia. He attended DuPont High School. It
was one of two schools which later merged into Riverside High School. There the
student excelled at football, basketball, baseball tracks, and many other
sports. Randy was also a member of the school's debating club. Moss was a
DuPont Panthers' football player that led them to back-to-back state championships,
in 1992 and 1993. He was an excellent wide receiver and also played free
safety, returned kickoffs and punts, as well as was the team's punter and
kicker. In 1994, he received the by the Kennedy Award as the West Virginia
Football Player of the Year. Parade magazine named him to their annual
All-American high school football team in 1995. in 2009, named him one of the
50 greatest footballers from high schools of all time.
